Once students have learned the prereading mechanics of reading, such as:- pointing one to one at words
- moving left to right through sentences (directionality), they are taught to answer and apply these three questions:
- Does it make sense (meaning)
- Does it look right? (visual, phonics)
- Does it sound right? (grammer, syntax)
