 Dear Families,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new principal of Webster Enrichment Magnet Elementary School. I come to Webster with nine years of elementary teaching experience, five years of special education teaching experience, and five years experience as an assistant principal.
In assuming the role of principal at Webster, I have been impressed by the level of caring and commitment to excellence held by our staff. It has been delightful to meet your children. They have been warm and welcoming with their daily smiles and hugs. What a wonderful way to start one’s work day!
While I have only been at Webster for a few days, I see many great things happening here. This is a great place to learn and to work, and I am excited to be part of creating Webster’s future. I value strong school & family partnerships, and look forward to working together with you as we move forward in educating your children.
Sincerely, Lori Simon, Principal

TARGET – Take Care of Education This past week, Mr. Bush’s fifth grade class was presented with a check for $703.12 from Target. The class will use the funds to choose a special field trip to go on yet this school year. Thanks to all the Webster families and friends who participate in this fund raising effort for our school. When you use your Target card, Target will donate up to 1% of each purchase to Webster. This is a pain-free way to support our school. For more information just go to Target and apply in person, or apply online at Target.com/redcard.
End of Day For your child’s safety, if you need to make a change in how your student goes home, we ask that you notify us by 2:00, so that we have sufficient time to locate your child and get the message to them. Thank you for your help with this!

Concordia Language Camp On April 20-22, 18 French students and 13 Spanish students went to Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji. Concordia Language Villages are well known for providing meaningful foreign language experience to young people. Their goal is to prepare our children to become knowledgeable (language and culture) and responsible citizens.
The French students demonstrated:- Excitement and a willingness to learn: Students had a positive attitude to try everything. They have been working since September on learning French and now they had the chance to try it for real.
- Diversity: Most of the staff members at the camp were native French speakers speaking only in French. They successfully engaged our students in fun learning and playing. The food and activities were designed to immerse the students in French. Webster students also practiced how to share their personal taste in a polite and caring way.
- Responsibility and caring: I was delighted and touched by how caring the older students were for the youngsters, helping with luggage, finding things, understanding what's going on, helping them to feel safe at bed time. Watching this multi-age, multi-race group functioning as a supporting small community was very rewarding.

¡Viva español! Spanish is alive! The Spanish Enrichment Program had an outstanding time at the beautiful Spanish Camp located up in the Northern part of Minnesota! The students enjoyed learning about Central America's culture, foods and games they play. The students did their very best to speak in Spanish at all times during the camp stay. ¡Bravo niños! Great job students!
